Some of the biggest names in music are headed to Daytona Beach. The American Music Festival announced Friday it's bringing in acts this summer that include Janet Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Christina Aguilera and Rihanna.
The festival is designed to raise the Daytona Beach image in the minds of residents and visitors. After major concerts in June at the Bandshell, it will expand to shows at the Ocean Center, Peabody Center and Main Street.
Daytona Beach committed $125,000 to promote it. The city has given hundreds of thousands for music events before, with little return, but said the organization is different this time.
The other performers announced Friday are the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovatto and Selena Gomez.
Tickets go on sale May 29, but specific dates for the performances have not been released. News Source

Last night, Selena attended the 2009 UNICEF Snowflake Ball at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills and she looked absolutely stunning on the red carpet! Her dress is so beautiful!
Selena Gomez will launch her first fashion line called Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez in Fall 2010. Sel told WWD: 'Growing up in Texas, I was sort of close-minded and kind of a tomboy, but as I’ve traveled, I found such a love of clothes. It’s really always been a dream of mine to have a line.' The line focuses on 'pretty, feminine and bohemian' clothing, that mirrors her own style. Her fashion line consultant said: 'She has such a good sense of what she likes and what she doesn’t like. It was surprising as I’ve never worked with someone so young, and never really expected her to be that smart. She has a desire to be involved, and nothing is sent out there without her approval. It’s nice to see her have this genuine interest.' They plans to launch a full sportswear collection for fall 2010 selling, Boho dresses, floral printed tops, jeans, skirts, jackets and some accessories such as scarves and hats. Most of the collection is made in an organic soft cotton and all fabrics are recycled or eco-friendly, which was important to Selena.
